FAQ

Does it slow down page loading?

No. Sprach Buddy processes text after the page loads and only replaces a percentage of words based on your difficulty setting. The impact is negligible.

Can I exclude certain websites?

Yes. The site blacklist lets you disable word replacement on any website, such as work tools or banking sites.

How does spaced repetition work?

It's simple: words you struggle with show up more often in quizzes. Words you already know appear less frequently. This is the same proven technique used by apps like Anki -- it helps you remember words long-term instead of forgetting them after a day.

Is an internet connection required for pronunciation?

Pronunciation uses the browser's built-in Web Speech API. It works offline on most systems with the language pack installed.
